By pursuing your certification through Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, you are joining the largest teacher preparation network in the state. The 11 universities of A&M System produce more fully-certified teachers than any other university system in Texas and have the highest number of teachers remaining in the profession for the first five years of their career. Choose a path to becoming a certified Texas teacher:

Undergraduate degree & certification preparation

> Apply if:
You don't yet have a bachelor's degree and want to earn teacher certification.

> How it works:
Major in the content area you plan to teach, and take courses in pedagogy. The program will prepare you to graduate with a bachelor's degree and take the TExES state certification exams.

Alternative Certification of Educators (ACE)

> Apply if:
You have a bachelor's degree and want to become a teacher as quickly as possible.

> How it works:
Begin taking courses Summer I or Fall, and earn teaching certification in a year or less.

Most courses also count toward a master's degree, should you decide to complete one.
